Orange reinforces its strategy around content
The French company launches the Orange Content division that will bring together its interests in the production and distribution of audiovisual content.
Orange intends to reinforce its strategy in the production and distribution of content with the launch of Orange Content, a division that will report directly to Stéphan Richard, who will be president and CEO of the subsidiary.
Orange Content will bring together a large part of the current content division, as well as the subsidiaries Orange Studio, OCS and OPTV (Orange Prestations TV). Likewise, it will provide support to the countries where the multinational is present with special attention to business intelligence work. This new division will be responsible for providing international guidelines on content policy in each country.
Along with Stéphane Richard, David Kessler, as director, and Serge Laroye, as director of operations, will lead Orange Content.
Orange Content will be based mainly on five pillars: business intelligence, studying trends and movements of actors to identify opportunities for the group; the acquisition of rights through production and distribution agreements; development of a production/editing center that will house the Orange Studio and OCS facilities; implementation of proposals for new formats, new uses, and innovative solutions in the field of content; and monitoring the evolution of income in each country through strategic planning axes and joint action plans in each territory in order to achieve the greatest profitability of its activities.
Its objective is to cover the entire content life cycle from the acquisition of rights to the development of new services.
Note, on the other hand, that Orange and Canal+ have strengthened their relationship with the launch of Canal+ Essential for Orange fiber customers in France. This new service will allow subscribers to opt for a Canal+ package without a long-term commitment.
