The new updates will provide JVC's flagship cameras with more functions, more formats and better video/audio streaming with more stable, more secure and more flexible connectivity.

JVC GY-LS300 with Atoms

JVC will present at IBC 2017 new firmware updates for the main camera models of its 4K and ProHD ranges, which increase the performance of the equipment in key aspects such as versatility in recording formats, integration with other systems on the market and the quality of the built-in streaming system.

The improvements included in the 4.0 firmware update affect the recording section and also the type of IP connectivity in 4K, adding greater creative possibilities; It is free for all current owners of this model.

The update provides 4K output at 50p or 60p via HDMI for external recording and also allows you to record a 4:2:2 signal in 4K at 30p/25p/24p and incorporates an expanded IP remote control function that allows you to control the equipment remotely and also monitor images when the camera is working at 4K 30p/25p/24p.

An important aspect that expands the possibilities of working in 4K is the compatibility of pause/record control with external HDMI recorders, such as the Atomos Ninja Inferno or others. Now it will be possible to record 4K at 50p/60p easily using Apple's ProRes or Avid's DNxHR. With the camera configured in capture mode with the J-Log1 logarithmic gamma, the Ninja Inferno recorder will record the 4K material in HDR and allow it to be viewed on the equipment's 7” screen.

Designed for filmmakers, documentary filmmakers and also for broadcast production, the GY-LS300CH incorporates a JVC Super 35 4K CMOS sensor with an optical block that has a standard Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mount. The variable Mapping technology that the GY-LS300 model enjoys adapts the capture area of its Super 35 CMOS sensor to different optics such as MFT, PL or EF, among others. The Prime Zoom mode stands out in the GY-LS300, which allows you to use fixed focal optics to zoom without losing resolution or depth of field, and an HD streaming generator with IP connectivity for live transmission directly on hardware decoders as well as for the JVC Video Cloud system, Facebook Live and other content distribution networks (CDN).

GY-HM890 y GY-HM850

The GY-HM850 and GY-HM890 are cameras designed to develop production workflows such as ENG, but also for productions from a set or in multi-camera configurations in the field. They accommodate adapters for fiber optic or multicore CCUs, and are also compatible with practically the entire range of components and accessories of the brand.

They are classic models in production chains that constantly reinforce IP connectivity, as represented by this new V0304 firmware update, which includes IFB streaming audio return capability, compatibility with the JVC VIDEOCLOUD Web platform and the SMPTE 2022-1 protocol with FEC (Forward Error Correction) error correction system.

Full Screen Graphics

JVC has already launched several versions of its GY-HM200 camera to which it has incorporated a graphic generator for its news application and coverage of sporting events, such as an integrated electronic scoreboard with the capacity to update in real time through mobile devices or by connecting to external equipment for generating results.

Now, the new update will allow the insertion of full-screen graphics to the existing functionalities of embedding texts and images, team logos, etc., both for the streaming signal and for the recorded signal, without the need for any titler or external mixer.

The new update allows you to add up to 50 jpg or png images, even with Alpha channel, via the SD card. They can be presented on the screen manually or converted into a slideshow for commercial breaks or intermissions in sporting events. Full screen Alpha channel images can be embedded along with the scoreboard for advertising use throughout a match.

The GY-HM200 cameras in all their versions incorporate a 24X dynamic zoom in HD and a highly sensitive JVC 4K CMOS image sensor. A double slot for SD memory cards allows you to produce countless hours of high-quality recording by choosing between formats such as 4K Ultra HD, Full HD with 4:2:2 sampling, in standard SD resolution and also in low Proxy resolution to upload content to the Internet.

Robotic camera

The V0101 firmware update expands the PTZ control capacity via LAN for such popular equipment as the Newtek Tricaster, among others, is compatible via RS-422/RS485 with the PELCO-D control protocol and allows, of course, to deliver the streaming stream generated through the JVC Video Cloud platform.

The KY-PZ100 camera is a next-generation robotic camera that incorporates an HD streaming engine that provides output in multiple bit rates with minimal latency, in addition to the IP output at the same time it records internally in HD and delivers HD-SDI output (3G) and HDMI output, it can also be powered through an AC power supply or through PoE (Power-Over-Ethernet).
