Grass Valley reaches one hundred GV Korona mixers sold
Among the many customers who have purchased this popular mixer in its first year on the market are Portland Timbers, NEP Switzerland, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Solotech or TV3 Lithuania.
Grass Valley has reached the figure of one hundred GV Korona mixers sold worldwide among televisions, production companies, mobile units, sports stadiums... This panel is perfect for small spaces and offers high-quality production value at an affordable cost. GV Korona works with any K-Frame processing engine, including the new K-Frame V-series, and offers an innovative touch screen and built-in menu system, making it ideal for broadcast operations looking for a compact and powerful option.
Tim Walker, product manager, Grass Valley, director of products for Grass Valley, acknowledges that "we developed the GV Korona to meet the needs of our customers who do small and medium production runs while operating in small spaces. We knew that customers who wanted to capitalize on the power and innovation of Grass Valley mixers, but simply did not have the space, were eager to integrate the GV Korona into their facilities. This has been proven by the large number of units we have installed in the first year."
The surface of the production mixer contains a built-in color touchscreen interface that allows operators to work quickly and intuitively to produce engaging content for a variety of applications. It also features an in-panel menu and uses the same OLED display and color button technologies as the larger Grass Valley panels.
Among the many customers who have purchased this popular mixer are Portland Timbers, NEP Switzerland, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Solotech or TV3 Lithuania. While each of these clients uses GV Korona differently and for different audiences, they are all intent on ensuring that their viewers experience the content in the best way possible.
GV Korona can be paired with any K-Frame, including the new K-Frame V-series that supports up to three licensed MEs plus 2 additional VPEs, and has a modular design that provides great serviceability and scalability. It supports SDI and IP and is 3G/4K UHD-ready, supporting both quad-split and 2SI. Using 10-bit processing, it even supports HDR.
David Lemmink, director of engineering at Solotech, comments that "in the live entertainment market we need cost-effective, reliable and powerful video solutions that perform every day in some of the most difficult environments. Our history over the years with the Grass Valley line of analog mixers made our choice easy. The new V series offers the power of the K-Frame in a cost-effective and compact format without sacrificing power and functionality."
For his part, Dalius Kazlauskas, technology director at TV3 Lithuania, “underlines that “GV Korona has offered us a new and easy way of working thanks to its built-in touch menu, its M/E and its ability to perform signal conversions within the mixer. “We now have the ability to produce high-level programs using 3D DVEs, being the only video switcher in this price range that offers it.”
