Alfredo Castellón Molina died this Wednesday in Madrid at the age of 87. The director of the movies Platero and me (1967) y Cervantes' chickens (1987) was one of the pioneers of Spanish Television, having to his credit countless programs such as more than four hundred installments of Study 1, the biographies of Ramon y Cajal y Azorín, Palma and Don Jaime, The Martinez house, Seen for sentence o The last coffee.

Born in Zaragoza in November 1930, he studied film and law in Italy. Back in Spain, he entered the Film School, where he made his first short, a waterfall​.

A true pioneer of television in Spain, he joined TVE a few months after broadcasting began in October 1956 on Paseo de la Habana in Madrid.

In addition to television, literature was another of his passions, with several theatrical productions and several books. His last work, Apologists, a collection of aphorisms, short stories and prose poems dedicated to his parents, was recently presented at the Aragonese Center in Madrid.
