Total net income has grown for the fourth consecutive year to 996.3 million. Mediaset España has achieved a 1.6% increase in gross advertising revenue from its own media.

Mediaset Spain has closed 2017 with its highest economic data since 2008. The commercial potential of the company, leader in advertising investment since 2004, and the management of its resources, have led it to increase its net profit by 15.5% compared to 2016 until reaching the 197.5 million.

Los gross advertising revenue of its own resources have grown between January and December 2017 by 1.6% to 946.4 million, despite not having had the broadcasting rights for any major sporting event in 2017, as happened in 2016 with the European Football Championship. Including third-party advertising sales (23.3 million) and commissions, net advertising revenue stood at 928.7 million. These figures have given it leadership in annual market share with 43.3%, extending the advantage to almost 2 points over its main competitor, Atresmedia (41.4%), which has experienced a decrease of 0.7% compared to the previous year.

The net billing of Mediaset España has increased for the fourth consecutive year (+0.4%) to 996.3 million, a figure that includes the €67.6M received from non-advertising income, among which the performance of the four film premieres of Telecinco Cinema stood out, ranking as the four highest-grossing Spanish films of the year.

From the point of view of resource management, Mediaset España has managed to reduce its operating costs by 2.2% up to 734 million, compared to the 750.8 registered in 2016.

As a result of the improvements in its income and the management of its costs, Mediaset España has recorded a EBITDA of 262.2 million, which represents a margin on total net income of 26.3% and an increase of 8.8% compared to 2016; and an EBIT of 245.3 million, which represents a growth of 9.3% over the same period in 2016, with a margin on total income of 24.6%. Both the EBITDA and the EBIT recorded are the company's highest since the economic crisis and the fall of the advertising market began in mid-2008.

He net profit, 197.5 million, 15.5% more than the 171 million achieved in 2016, it represents a margin on total income of 19.8% and a profit of €0.60 per share.

Furthermore, Mediaset España has once again confirmed the strength of its balance sheet with a positive net financial position at the end of December of 135.3 million, after the distribution of a dividend of 175.7 million, the repurchase of 100 million in own shares in the year and the generation of free cash flow of 229.3 million in 2017. This figure, very close to the EBIT margin obtained in this period, places the company as one of the most notable in Europe due to its strong operating profitability and cash generation capacity.

Regarding the fourth quarter of 2017, Mediaset España recorded total net income of 295 million euros, with operating costs of 231.5. It has obtained an EBITDA of 63.5 million, 11.9% more than in the same period of 2016, with a margin of 21.5% on total net income. Finally, the net profit obtained between October and December 2017 stood at 51.4 million, 31.3% more than in the same period of 2016.
