The PXW-Z280 is the first 4k 3-chips camcorder in the world with the new CMOS exmor R type 1/2 image sensors while the PXW-Z190 offers 4K 50p/60p images with three Image sensors CMOS exmor R type 1/3.

Sony It has expanded in NAB 2018 its XDCAM range of professional camcorders with two new models: PXW-Z280 and PXW-Z190.

The first model has three CMOS exmor R type 1/2 sensors to offer a high sensitivity of F12 (59.94p), a long zoom relationship and a marked field depth, so it is ideal for modern press rooms.

In addition, 3 chips sensors and 4K 4: 2: 2 bits format provide delicate vivid images and gradations. Improved network functions, with versatile formats and interfaces, allow live workflows, so this model is ideal for recording documentaries, chains and production companies.

This Camcorder has been designed to offer easy use, with new functions such as automatic approach (AF) with advanced facial recognition. Users can select the option Face priority of (Automatic approach with face priority), ideal for recording scenes with human beings.

Similarly, the newly introduced option Face Only AF (Automatic approach only in the face) has been designed for the most demanding 4K recording applications, such as interviews and classes recording, and helps automatically focus with total sharpness to a specific person by registering their face.

The 17x zoom goal and the three independent control rings with ceilings allow manual control of the approach, zoom and iris to enjoy a quick and precise adjustment.

The electronic variable neutral filter, exclusive to Sony, allows greater exposure control by variation of the ND filter density during recording, while maintaining resolution and field depth. The camera is also compatible with S-Log3, which allows users to create attractive images, and with the immediate HDR workflow of Sony, which eliminates the need for color gradation.

Likewise, the PXW-Z280 has advanced network functions that allow a wireless workflow of informative production (ENG) safe and optimized.

PXW-Z190

With respect to the new PXW-Z190, it has three Image Sensors Exmor R type 1/3 of recent development that includes the Camcorder capture the RGB light independently and offer 4K 50p/60p high-resolution images in a wide range of gradations. In addition, format 4: 2: 2 of 10 bits guarantees content with bright and detailed colors in HD.

The new model incorporates a 25x optical zoom goal and three independent target rings that allow covering a wide focal range, guaranteeing at the same time that the camera offers intuitive and adequate use to record in a variety of environments. The incorporation of an optical zoom objective with digital extensor in HD mode and a 4K resolution sensor assumes that an image equivalent to a 50X zoom without image degradation can be captured.

Like its “brother” model, it has automatic approach (AF) with advanced facial recognition with function Face Priority Of y Face Only AF.

Both camcorders are compatible with a wide variety of formats, including Xavc-Long and Dvcam. In addition to these, the MPEG 422 and MPEG HD formats are available through an optional license, while proxy 1080i at 9 Mbps can be used for simultaneous recording in 4K and HD. Other functions include a 3G-SDI output and a remote terminal for compact multi-free operation, using the MCX-500 production mixer and Sony's RM-30BP controller.

Thanks to the technology developed for the Sony cloud-based service, “XDCAM Air”, these XDCAM camcorders use Sony's quality of service (QOs) to distribute live content of high quality emission live uses using a dual-link connection with multiplexation of two mobile networks, capable of assigning planning metadata, in addition to allowing the exploration and discharge of clips to another Camcorder from remote diffusion stations through the cloud.

In addition, for users to enjoy greater flexibility in production, the Wi-Fi module and the integrated Ethernet connector allow the transfer of wireless/cable data, the remote control and monitoring from a variety of devices, including smartphones, tablets and desktop equipment.
