Masterclass Sony

Thursday, May 30 Sony will organize in Nolich Studio in Valencia a Masterclass focused on camcorders and studio cameras 4K. Among other new features, those who attend this Masterclass (in the morning and afternoon) led by Sony product specialists Alvaro Ortiz (camcorders) y Yhazmina Diaz (Workflow and Live production) will be able to discover the new camera HXC-FB80K HD/4K.

This new studio camera is ideal for low-light productions, with a longer cable length and additional features such as paint control. It is equipped with three 2/3″ ExmorTM Full HD CMOS sensors which offer excellent sensitivity (F13 at 50 Hz and F12 at 59.94 Hz in 1080 mode) with a typical signal-to-noise ratio of -60 dB.

The HXC-FB80 gives you a forward-thinking gateway to the benefits of 4K production. In combination with the HXCU-FB80 camera control unit, it allows you to enjoy highly detailed images in 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), making the HXC-FB80 system the ideal solution for creating Ultra HD content. The camera can easily output 3G-SDI signals, such as 1080/50p and 59.94p. The 3G processor also supports 1080/23.92PsF, in addition to 25PsF and 29.97PsF.

PXW-Z280

In Valencia, Sony will also share details of its nuevos camcorders 4K PXW-Z280 y PXW-Z190. The first model features three 1/2 type Exmor R CMOS sensors to offer high sensitivity of F12 (59.94p), a long zoom ratio and a strong depth of field, making it ideal for modern newsrooms.

Additionally, 3-chip sensors and 4K 4:2:2 10-bit format provide vivid images and delicate color gradations. Enhanced networking capabilities, with versatile formats and interfaces, enable live workflows, making this model ideal for documentary filming, broadcast networks and production companies.

This camcorder has been designed for ease of use, with new features such as autofocus (AF) with advanced facial recognition. Users can select the option Face Priority AF (Face Priority Autofocus), ideal for recording scenes with humans.

Similarly, the newly introduced option Face Only AF (Face Only Autofocus) is designed for the most demanding 4K recording applications, such as recording interviews and classes, and helps automatically focus in crystal-clear focus on a specific person by recording their face.

The 17x zoom lens and three independent control rings with detents allow manual control of focus, zoom and iris for quick and precise adjustment.

Sony's exclusive electronic variable neutral density filter allows greater exposure control by varying the density of the ND filter during recording, while maintaining resolution and depth of field. The camera also supports S-Log3, which allows users to create beautiful images, and Sony's immediate HDR workflow, which eliminates the need for color grading.

Additionally, the PXW-Z280 features advanced networking features that enable a secure and streamlined wireless news (ENG) production workflow.

PXW-Z190

Regarding the new PXW-Z190, it has three recently developed Exmor R type 1/3 CMOS image sensors included in the camcorder that capture RGB light independently and offer high-resolution 4K 50p/60p images in a wide range of gradations. In addition, the 10-bit 4:2:2 format guarantees content with vivid and detailed colors in HD.

The new model incorporates an objective of 25x optical zoom and three independent lens rings that allow a wide focal range to be covered, while ensuring that the camera is intuitive to use and suitable for recording in a variety of environments. The addition of an optical zoom lens with digital extender in HD mode and a 4K resolution sensor means that an image equivalent to 50x zoom can be captured without image degradation.

Like its “brother” model, it has automatic focus (AF) with advanced facial recognition function. Face Priority OF y Face Only AF.

Both camcorders support a wide variety of formats, including XAVC-Long and DVCAM. In addition to these, MPEG HD 422 and MPEG HD formats are available through an optional license, while Proxy 1080i at 9 Mbps can be used for simultaneous 4K and HD recording. Other features include a 3G-SDI output and a remote terminal for compact multi-camera operation, using Sony's MCX-500 production switcher and RM-30BP controller.

Finally, the masterclass will also address the creative possibilities offered by the manufacturer's latest HDR and OLED monitors.
