La Casa de Papel, Golden Nymph at the Cannes Festival

The historical Monte Carlo Festival, one of the most important for television fiction, has granted the Golden Nymph for Best Television Drama a The Money Heist, the fiction series created by Álex Pina, produced by Vancouver Media y Antenna 3, which can currently be enjoyed on Netflix.

The Money Heist shared nomination with Hotel Beau Sejour from Belgium, Cardinal from Canada, Below The Surface from Denmark, Ice from France, Liar from the United Kingdom and The Good Fight of the United States.

Álex Pina, creator of The Money Heist, a series that has become the most watched non-English speaking fiction on Netflix, has recognized how exciting it is to receive this new award: "The miracle continues. We have always been a small group of creatives who dreamed of small things, so being here, with the great creatives of world fiction, is huge for us. This award represents the consolidation of the fiction that we propose based on the dimension and design of its characters above all else."

Pina also pointed out when collecting the Golden Nymph that “it is wonderful for the entire Spanish industry that we can speak face to face with the large fiction corporations from around the world.”

The Money Heist is the the only Spanish series that has won this prestigious award in recent decades. The last Spanish fictions to achieve this were The little birds, from 1974, and The Cabin, in 1972, both by Antonio Mercero.
