Mediakind places the consumer at the center of its solutions creating the ‘Mediakind universe’
Cygnus, Aquila, Pictor, Orion and Vega solutions are the key elements of the Mediakind universe, providing solutions for the contribution and distribution of content, direct to the consumer, video distribution networks, consumer experience and services.
Visitors to IBC 2018 (stand 1.d61) will be the first in the world to experience the Mediakind universe, the new generation of solutions and services of Mediaknud, the New brand of the Ericsson Media solution business.

MediaFirst Client for Mediaroom
Mediakind has announced in IBC the launch of Mediafirst Client for Mediaroom, a new solution that allows the existing mediaroom operators to update to the Mediafirst television platform. Mediaroom is the IPTV platform with 40 million STBS deployed worldwide.
The introduction of Mediafirst Client with a cloud -based Saas platform allows current mediaroom operators to offer a convergent multipurpose experience and respond to the accelerated rhythm of the video delivery market. Mediafirst provides the economy, agility and innovation at the speed of the web using the latest cloud technologies, continuous and devotee delivery.
Taking advantage of the quality and robustness of the existing mediaroom platform and merging it with the next generation of UI/UX and the speed of the Mediafirst Cloud Platform platform, TV operators can now offer even more attractive and immersive media experiences and increase monetization. Industry research estimates that a content -centered experience can increase ARPU by up to 30%.
The mediafirst customer allows mediaroom operators to reuse their deployed STB hardware. This eliminates the need to provide additional hardware, delivery and support to the customer. Through a simple software update to this new client, operators can offer a convergent multipurpose experience, which includes payment TV services in the home, TV everywhere and on the top (OTT). The Mediafirst TV platform unifies the consumer experience among the different devices without any additional integration effort.
The team
On January 31, 2018, it was made public that One Equity Partners, a private capital firm with extensive experience in investments in media and telecommunications, will become the majority owner of Ericsson Media Solutions.
Since then the new Mediakind has made a great effort to have a management team formed by experts in television, telecommunications and media.
