The Spanish film industry meets in Aragon at the 24th Forqué Awards
Los Forqué marcan el inicio de la temporada de galardones y reunirán el próximo 12 de enero en Zaragoza a la industria del cine español.
Los José María Forqué Awards, instaurados por EGEDA, celebran este sábado 12 de enero su 24 edición, una ceremonia que marca el inicio de la temporada de galardones de cine en España y que de nuevo es punto de encuentro de grandes estrellas del séptimo arte. La gala, que se celebrará en Zaragoza, estará conducida por Elena Sánchez junto a Edu Soto and will feature musical performances by Marta Sánchez along with Carlos Baute, Blas Cantó, Ana Guerra and all the participants of Operación Triunfo 2018. The Minister of Culture and Sports, José Guirao, is one of the prominent names who has confirmed his attendance, which will be attended, as in the previous year, by the President of the Government of Aragon, Javier Lambán.
The presentation of awards for the most important works of the last film year will also be attended by Jose Coronado (your son), Antonio de la Torre (The Kingdom), Alexandra Jiménez (The distances) or Eva Llorach (Who will sing to you); all of them nominated for best male and female performance respectively. In this edition, there are four films that aspire to win the most important award of the evening, that of best fiction or animated feature film. Champions, Carmen and Lola, Between two waters y The Kingdom They are eligible for recognition and will have a large representation led by their directors. Javier Fesser will attend with the rest of the team who will also present one of the prizes. Champions arrives at the event as the highest-grossing Spanish film of the year and having generated an entire social phenomenon around it, with the making of a documentary that highlights the real life of its protagonists.
Another of the revelation films of the season has been Carmen and Lola. Its director Arantxa Echevarría and its three protagonists (Rosy Rodríguez, Zaira Morales and Carolina Yuste) will be present in the Aragonese capital to support the film that conquered critics and audiences at the Cannes Festival. In addition, the three actresses will have an active participation in presenting one of the awards.
between two waters is the third finalist, directed by Isaki Lacuesta and winner of the Golden Shell at the last San Sebastián Festival, which forms the sequel to his first fiction feature film: The legend of time (2006).
Rodrigo Sorogoyen's latest film, The Kingdom, completes the list of candidates. The work, which will feature the presence of its director and its main protagonist, delves into the world of political corruption.
