The 47th Huesca Film Festival begins the reception of short films

In 2018, more than 2,000 works from 87 countries were received for its three competitions: International, Ibero-American and Documentary.

The event, an international reference for short films and endorsed by the Oscar and Goya Awards as a qualifying festival, will receive works until February 14; works that will compete in one of its three competitions: International, Ibero-American and Documentary.

The online platform is already active and productions from all five continents are expected. “It is a key moment for the organization and for the filmmakers, Last year there were 87 countries that chose to participate and that speaks of the international potential of the festival” declares its director, Rubén Moreno.

The contest maintains the total amount of prizes that amounts to a total of 24,000 euros. The Danzante Award, the highest recognition of each of the three competitions and which opens the doors of the Hollywood Academy, consolidates its identity after having gained prominence with a new brand image and identity. A work that has been carried out for several years and that the last edition had a definitive push. In the list of winners, the viewer will continue to play a fundamental role in deciding the Aragón Television Audience Award with their vote; The winner obtains the purchase of the broadcasting rights for a value of 900 euros, as well as their promotion and dissemination.

Jobs that must have a maximum duration of 30 minutes for fiction and 40 minutes for documentaries They must complete the registration process that maintains its fee of 2 euros; amount that the platform itself requests as processing and management expenses and that allows the creators themselves to value both their work and the framework in which they present it. The organization of the Alto Aragonese contest takes into account all scenarios and therefore participants who, due to their geographical location and/or conflicts in the country, have problems accessing the internet or making payments, can request their participation by other means.

The Huesca International Film Festival has also revealed what will be the poster for its 47th edition; a work made by graphic designer and creative director Ana Criado, whose stage name is Ana Cezeta. Its objective is to “capture the primary essence of cinema: Moving Image”, in the words of its creator. “The poster aims to capture a moment in that continuous movement, freeze it, and also, by enlarging the frame, show the ins and outs of the basis of cinema: the film,” he adds.

This Spaniard living in the United States has worked in recent years for many of the most prestigious studios developing credit title sequences for film and television. A key fact when observing his work for the Alto Aragonese contest; “With the use of typography almost as the only graphic element I wanted to wink at my profession as a credit title creator,” he concludes.

Criado has worked and lived in Los Angeles (California) for 7 years. His designs are in numerous credit sequences of well-known titles such as Star Trek: Discovery, American Horror Story, Godzilla, The Purge, Only the brave, The Secret life of Walter Mitty, Pixels or Sully, among many others. In addition to the seventh art, he has also worked for Apple, Nike, T-Mobile, Tequila Casamigos, and developed Motion Graphic design for the 89th Film Academy Awards (Oscars) and the 16th edition VES Awards, Fox. Among his clients are some of the most prestigious companies such as Fox, Amazon, Paramount Pictures, Sony, CBS, AMC or Universal Pictures, to name a few.

Finally, he has notable collaborations in motion graphic studios such as The Mill, Imaginary Forces, Digital Kitchen, Los York, Prodigal Pictures, Elastic and Prologue, where he continues to collaborate today.

The poster is a key element for the Huesca International Film Festival, which is why special care is taken in choosing its author. For yet another year, the organization is grateful for the advice of Isidro Ferrer, National Design Award (2002) and Illustration Award (2008), which makes possible the high level of the proposals and the international prestige that the Huesca event thus achieves.
