Mobile America and DirecTV/Sky account for nearly half of pay-TV subscribers in the region.

in Latin America pay TV will grow again by 2020. At the end of 2018 two operators dominated the region: Mobile America and DirecTV/Sky, representing almost half of the subscribers.

According to the prediction Digital Tv Research between 2018 and 2024 there will be some 5 million more pay-TV subscribers, so the total will amount to 77 million. Pay TV penetration will not exceed 44% of TV households.

Brazil lost 2 million pay-TV subscribers between 2014 and 2018. Its peak year, 2014, will not be surpassed until 2024.

The country, whose pay-TV market will account for $5.57 billion in 2024, will remain the first country in pay-TV revenue at a certain distance, followed by Mexico ($3.04 billion) and Argentina ($3.03 billion).

Mexico, has more pay-TV subscribers than Brazil despite having half of homes with television. However, Mexico has lost subscribers since its peak year in 2016.

the revenue pay TV in Latin America will fall by 2.1% (or $381 million) between 2018 and 2024, to $17.82 billion.
