"At a certain point we realised that not only did we have different companies that were dedicated to making content around the world, but that meant that we had a Studio", he added.
On the characteristics of The Mediapro Studio, Benet has clarified that this "Fund content production" which are then offered by other platforms, "something that has not been done much here in Spain". We decided that we had to get involved in the financing of the content in order to have a much better negotiating position and keep most of the intellectual property of that content," he said.
Benet has also explained that The Mediapro Studio will produce "all kinds of genres and formats" and will close deals with a a team made up of more than 200 screenwriters and almost 500 producers. "We have given a unit to all that we already had, The Mediapro Studio, to compete with all the major studios and make our production and distribution capacity available to talent around the world."
"What our objectives were 25 years ago we have been consolidating: we are actors in sports rights in the world, in content in the world, main players in audiovisual services in the world and we are turning to being world leaders in eSports," said Jaume Roures. We have worked with the same intensity on those four legs on which our development has been based and we have achieved a position where the wheel does not rotate if we are not a little located on that wheel".
In this sense, Roures also stressed that the group has "the vice" of "never saying 'no' to anything": "That has allowed us to place ourselves at a level where we are not only happy but also serve to promote new projects and challenges that sometimes no one had dared to enter".
