The presentation of this award coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Latin American Film Festival of Catalonia, which will take place in Lleida from June 6 to 13.

Juan Ferrer receives the ACPE Award

He International Press Club and the Association of Foreign Press Correspondents delivered this Wednesday, May 8, at the Cecilio Rodríguez Gardens in Retiro Park his International Journalism Awards.

One of the awards of this edition went to the Latin American Film Festival of Catalonia. Juan Ferrer, director of the Mostra, collected this award that recognizes people, institutions or organizations that enhance the image of Ibero-America, through institutional, cultural, scientific, social, commercial, diplomatic, sustainable development cooperation...

The presentation of this award coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Latin American Film Festival of Catalonia, which will take place in Lleida from June 6 to 13.
The Mostra was presented as "an important cultural axis between continents, not only the American one, but also the European one" and, the European press correspondents wanted to highlight "the importance of this festival specialized in Latin American cinema that supports debut works and that shows brave cinematography, always innovative and that breaks taboos, marking an important reference within what is international cinematography and the projection of Lleida abroad, thanks to an event such as the Film Mostra Latin American of Catalonia”.

Juan Ferrer, who has been the director of the Latin American Film Festival of Catalonia since its inception, wanted to highlight the history of the Festival in these 25 years. "The city of Lleida as an important audiovisual territory and the contribution of the Mostra to being a pioneering festival in the city within the audiovisual territory."

He also wanted to dedicate the award "to all the people who have made the Mostra possible during these 25 years, to reaffirm this festival for more than two decades, but above all to dedicate the event to the city of Lleida and to the people who have continued to support and enjoy cinema in this annual event and, finally, to thank Lleida for having given this space within the city's cultural calendar and that thanks to this we are awarded for being a reference."

The International Press Club also recognized other winners such as Manuel Vicent (whose work has stood out for its defense of human values), Ana Rosa Quintana (for her professional career), Mavi Doñate (best Spanish correspondent abroad), Sandrine Morel (best foreign correspondent in Spain),
Ramón Areces Foundation (for its support of knowledge and communication).
