Tiffen will debut the new Steadycam M-2 at Cine Gear 2019
The new Steadicam M-2 expands on the open architecture of the Steadicam M-1, with new, lighter components in a configurable mix and match system to meet the needs of any camera operator.
Tiffen will debut its new Steadicam M-2 Modular Camera Stabilizer in Cine Gear Expo 2019 in Los Angeles (California) on May 30 and 31.
Designed for the demanding camera performance requirements of modern film and television applications, the Steadicam M-2 seamlessly integrates its Steadicam Volt horizontal stabilization technology to reduce weight and height and simplify its design.
Andrew Tiffen, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Tiffen, comments: "The M-2 is a direct result of operator feedback and is designed to meet the needs of the Steadicam community. By building Volt technology directly into the upper stage, we have dramatically reduced the distance between the top of the gimbal and the top of the stage for a more compact design. Additionally, rig customization has been a hallmark of Steadicam operators for decades and with the M-2 we are offering a wide variety of options. to allow operators to build a sled as close as possible to their needs.”
The Steadicam M-2, which will be available in mid-summer, expands on the open architecture of the Steadicam M-1, with new, lighter components in a configurable mix and match system to meet the needs of any camera operator. Includes a new Volt-ready ultra-high precision gimbal and rigid carbon fiber poles available in various diameters and lengths for further customization. The new lightweight base is available with gold or V-lock battery plates and an optional hot-swappable third battery holder. The monitor's streamlined mounting uses industry-standard 60mm rod spacing and further reduces overall weight while maximizing viewing angles in both normal and low modes.
