DVB-T2

He Italian Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) has published guidelines on subsidies for the purchase of televisions/decoders compatible with standards DVB-T2, MPEG-4 y HEVC/H.265.

The Government will dedicate 151 million euros to subsidize the purchase of equipment from November 15 (one device per household with a maximum of 50 euros).

The discount will be applied directly by the retailer to the price, VAT included, of the television or decoder, without the possibility of obtaining a cash refund if the price of the device is less than 50 euros. Merchants, both physical and online, must register in the Agency's telematic service.

The equipment must be equipped with a HEVC DVB-T2 tuner, in accordance with the ITU-T Recommendation H.265. Manufacturers of the equipment in question must declare, under their own responsibility, which products meet the specific requirements. Requirements include the presence of a SCART connector in the case of decoders. Once conformity has been verified, MISE will publish the list of compatible models on its website.

In the coming weeks, the Government will make public the new roadmap of migration to the second generation of DVB-T since the previous plan approved autumn has been cancelled.
