Austria's leading private television network chooses alet Galaxy Five to streamline multi-platform production and distribution workflow across three channels.

Puls4

The valley has signed an agreement with the Austrian group ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 to completely revamp your media operation with the agile media management (MAM), workflow orchestration and editorial platform Galaxy Five. ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 produces hits like Next Top Model of Austria, the iconic UEFA Europa League and international sports coverage such as the National Football League and other news, interview and entertainment spaces.

The Dalet Galaxy Five installation will provide the broadcaster with a next-generation media production workflow that realigns production and delivery to optimize collaboration between cross-functional teams and multi-platform content output across its three channels: PULS 4, ATV and ATV 2.

Broadcast systems engineers, Christoph Stadlhofer and Dirk Raschig Comment on the vision of the leap forward and the partnership with Dalet to better manage the workflows of news, sports, archives and program preparation: "we have a rapidly growing pool of content that needs to be centralized and enriched with metadata. In addition, we need tools that allow our staff to easily search, prepare and distribute that content. Facilitating these needs combined with the management of a much larger production of program and news content on our digital platforms is what we hope to achieve with the move to Dalet Galaxy Five."

Tobias Stössel, project manager of this project at ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4, highlights that "Dalet Galaxy Five's core media management and orchestration capabilities will free our users from many manual processes and technical tasks that currently overload them. It will allow them to achieve a higher level of collaboration, giving them more time to focus on the project at hand."

The full implementation of Dalet Galaxy Five will enable ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 to implement a coherent, end-to-end digital content supply chain that unifies all operations and processes, from the newsroom to program preparation, through post-production, distribution and archives.

Key components

Key components in this project include: a centralized content catalog (MAM) containing rich metadata for all three ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 channels; Dalet web space for navigation, search and media management; workflow engine of Dalet for the orchestration operations and processes; the I/O platform Dalet Brio for centralized intake management; and transcoding scalable Dalet AmberFin. Installing Dalet will facilitate collaboration between all users, including editors of Adobe Premiere Pro via Dalet Xtend and Avid Pro Tools.

Johann Zemmour, General Manager EMEA and APAC at Dalet, comments: "Dalet Galaxy 5 will unify the infrastructure with an underlying component-based workflow that will allow ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 to scale their content production and cross-platform delivery at will and thrive in an ever-changing media environment. We look forward to working closely with ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 to renew their infrastructure and deliver on the ambitious roadmap that will undoubtedly transform the way they produce and deliver their premium product to the delight of ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4” audiences.

Philipp Beuchert, director of production and broadcast systems at ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 concludes by stating that "we are also studying the technology of the future and believe that Dalet is one of the key players in the market. ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 is delighted to improve the internal technology."
