Zero Density's Reality Engine and Panasonic's AW-UE150 4K PTZ offer a cost-effective solution for virtual studios
The Belgian regional television channel Notélé, which offers content in French to its 300,000 viewers, has been the first to implement this combined solution.
Panasonic y Zero Density launch a new economic solution for production in virtual studios for content providers and small and medium-sized television networks. Virtual production software Reality Engine of Zero Density, combined with the PTZ camera (AW-UE150) 4K from Panasonic, represents a powerful, high-quality and affordable solution for many more users to access virtual studio applications.
Belgian regional television channel Noted, which offers content in French to its 300,000 viewers, has been the first to implement this combined solution. From Notélé they assure that "quality is our main objective and that is why we use this equipment. This combined system is a good option for television networks like ours because the tracking system with the FreeD protocol is integrated into the camera, so it is a cost-effective solution since it does not need an additional tracking system. For local television channels, my advice is to invest in this system as soon as possible. Compared to other systems, this solution has a good return on investment in quality and price and is also very easy to implement.
The AW-UE150 is the first PTZ camera on the market to offer the position data reporting (PTZF). Thanks to the adoption of the FreeD protocol, it is compatible with virtual studio and augmented reality applications. With this feature, the AW-UE150 provides real-time positioning to Zero Density's virtual Reality Engine software. The camera is then “positioned” and the FreeD data is sent over serial or IP links.
For its part, Ulaş Kaçmaz, vice president of sales and marketing at Zero Density, adds that "as an expert in real-time virtual studio production solutions, Zero Density's goal is to break the industry mold with every launch, product and collaboration. Panasonic has long enjoyed a great reputation in the field of media and entertainment. With the adaptation of the AW-UE150 to Reality Engine, a multitude of possibilities have opened up for small and medium-sized television networks, as well as other large operators, to take advantage of. the latest virtual production technology.”
