EVS's XT-VIA successfully passes JT-NM tests
The XT-VIA live video production server with Multicam 16.2 OS achieves interoperability of streaming, configuration and IP management.
EVS has been made known in IBC 2019 make your production server live XT-VIA next generation has passed the IP interoperability tests of the Joint Task Force for Networked Media (JTNM). The server, running the latest Multicam 16.2 operating system, has passed SMPTE ST.2110-10/20/20/21/30/40 and JT-NM TR-1001-1 and AMWA (Advanced Media Workflow Association) NMOS IS04-05 standards.
This demonstrates the interoperability not only A/V streams (SMPTE ST.2110), but also configuration and management. Through a series of APIs, the NMOS protocol allows the discovery of network devices, registration and management of connections between different endpoints on the network.
The JT-NM is a self-coordination group led by the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and the Video Services Forum (VSF).
Partners with providers and users to provide information to assist in the transition to IP. As the use of intellectual property matures in the industry, the JT-NM Tested program offers potential buyers of IP-based equipment a broader, more documented view of how suppliers' equipment meets SMPTE standards and AMWA NMOS specifications.
