Telecommunications Engineers recognize Manuel Moralejo for his Professional Career
Since 2015, Moralejo has been President of the Spanish Association of Telecommunications Engineers and Delegate Dean of the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers in Catalonia.
He Official College of Telecommunications Engineers (COIT), at the Barcelona headquarters of the National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC) has hosted, on the occasion of the celebration of San Gabriel, an event that includes a technical table related to the connected and autonomous vehicle that was attended by different experts from the sector. Furthermore, during the course of the day, the Dean-President of the COIT and the AEIT, Martha Balenciaga, has presented a recognition to Manuel Moralejo for his Professional Career.
He Professional Career Award It is awarded to a Telecommunications Engineer in recognition of their career. The Boards of the COIT and the AEIT choose the winner at the meetings of their governing bodies and, therefore, it is a national distinction.
Manuel Moralejo, born in Zamora in 1932, completed his high school studies in Zamora and Salamanca, later obtaining the title of Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid in 1961 and the Doctor of Telecommunications Engineer, from the same university, in 1968. His professional career began as Head of Laboratory and Technical Director of Iberia Radio in 1961, joining RTVE, in 1965, as a Telecommunications Engineer. From 1966 to 1987 he was Chief Zone Engineer of RTVE in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, holding the position of Operational Director of the Eastern Region of RTVE from 1987 to 1989. Subsequently, from 1989 to 1999, the date of his retirement, he was named Director of the Catalonia and Balearic Islands Zone of Retevisión.
Moralejo, in addition, was the promoter and vice-president of the first Board of Directors of the Delegation in Catalonia of the National Association of Telecommunications Engineers, between 1969 and 1974, a Board that he later chaired between 1974 and 1978. He also participated in the debates that, in 1971, led to the development of the UPC with the implementation of new technical schools in Catalonia, and being, at the same time, promoter of the Higher Technical School of Telecommunications Engineers in Barcelona, where he was a professor.
