RNE adapts 'Alice in Wonderland' as sound fiction

Directed by Benigno Moreno, directed by Mayca Aguilera and scripted by Alfonso Latorre, RNE gives voice to the psychedelic story written by Lewis Carroll in 1862.

Alice in Wonderland, the psychedelic story written by Lewis Carroll in 1862, is the story that adapts the new RNE Sound Fiction and the Montemadrid Foundation. Fourteen actors, led by the young Lucia Caraballo (I'm alive), play 26 peculiar and fun characters in this fiction directed by Benigno Moreno, carried out by Mayca Aguilera and with a script Alfonso Latorre.

Since its publication, the work has fallen in love with generations of children and adults. Its dazzling world, its ironic sense of humor and its masterful handling of the absurd marked a before and after in children's literature.

The RNE Sound Fiction team has adapted the rich and intricate universe of Wonderland to the 21st century, moving it away from nineteenth-century conventions and turning Alice into a modern and determined girl who navigates a rich and imaginative sound universe. And all this, without losing any of the spirit of the original work.

Alice will run in a crazy race, swim in a sea of ​​tears, play living chess, attend a crazy picnic and be a witness in an absurd trial, all in just over an hour dedicated to the little ones in the house, who will actively participate in the action and help make this radio fiction. But 'Alice in Wonderland' does not forget the adult audience, who will enjoy the references and touches of humor aimed directly at them.

Caterpillars, cats, hares, frogs, parrots, lizards, mice, ducks, rabbits, cards from the deck and demented aristocrats. Alice, on her journey through Wonderland, will meet them all and try to understand their peculiar ways of seeing life. Sometimes he will succeed and other times... he will try not to get his head cut off.

RNE Sound Fiction

Alice in Wonderland It joins the list of RNE adaptations, such as In Cold Blood, Sherlock Holmes: the sign of the four, Psycho, The Exorcist, Dracula, Brave New World, Strangers on a Train, Young Frankenstein, The Life of Brian, The Last Journey of Horace Two o Blade Runner. Other famous literary works have also had their sound version or have inspired other fictions such as Treasure Island, Platero and I, Jekyll and Hyde o artists cafe.

RNE has also produced two fictions for the Almagro Festival: House with two doors is bad to keep (2018) y Sor Juana Inés, with favor and disdain (2019). In addition, RNE and RTVE.es have made sound fictions linked to renowned TVE series, such as The Ministry of Time o I'm alive. And RNE participates in Playzcast, an experience that offers a new dimension of sound thanks to the binaural (surround) format.
