The audiovisual group between January and September achieved a consolidated profit of 80.3 million in a context of weakness in the advertising market and greater competition in the sector.

Atresmedia has obtained a consolidated profit of 80.3 million euros in the first nine months of 2019. The company increases its EBITDA by +1.9% up to 126.4 million euros between January and September of this year, with a margin on net income of 17.5%, with an improvement of almost one percentage point over the same period in 2018.

The group achieves these results, in a context of weakness in the advertising market (-3%, according to Infoadex) and greater competition in the sector, thanks to the quality of its audiovisual offer, efficient cost containment management, the optimization of its commercial activity and the success of its strategic income diversification policy. Thus, the Group net income reaches 723.7 million euros and operating expenses were cut by -4.2% and stood at 597.3 million euros.

The set of Atresmedia TV channels has gotten one 41.2% market share, according to Infoadex. In terms of audience, it registers a share of 26.5%, leading the commercial target in prime time, (+0.2 points than its main competitor despite having one less channel).

The group's audiovisual business has managed to improve its EBITDA by +2.4% to 116.6 million euros, with a margin on net income of 17.4%. Operating expenses are reduced by -4.7% and stand at 554.9 million euros and Net Income at 671.6 million.

Atresmedia Radio It has an average audience of 3.5 million listeners, according to the latest General Media Study (moving year ended in the 2nd wave of 2019). It grew by 0.9% compared to the 1st wave of 2019, remaining the third option in the field of general radio stations. In the field of thematic radios, Europa FM registers 1.3 million euros and Melodía FM 234,000.

The net income of Atresmedia's radio division grows (+0.6%) to 59.1 million and the Ebitda in the accumulated period as of September 2019 stands at 9.8 million euros, which represents a Net Income Margin of 16.5%.

Atresmedia Digital breaks historical record

As of September 30, 2019, Atresmedia Digital reaches position 6 in the top 10 most visited sites, chaining thirteen consecutive months among the top ten. It breaks a historical record with 26.1 million unique users, and maintains its leadership in the audiovisual sector on the Internet, with 8.5 million more users than Mediaset.

The Group's online video platform, Atresplayer, has, as of September 2019, 2.3 million unique users, according to comScore. In addition, it reaches 7.1 million registered users. In the month of September, Atresplayer Premium, the paid option, was relaunched, increasing its original content, offering exclusive products and previews of open content.
