OTTs achieve a greater reach of individuals than traditional payment platforms, which manage to enter 27.8% of homes.
Windward Communication has made a report on the pay television in Spain, where the audience of OTT and traditional payment platforms is analyzed.
Households that receive some form of pay television (traditional + OTT) in Spain exceed 10 million for the first time, reaching 53.8% of the total consumption universe (individuals aged 14 or over). The number of people who receive one of the payment platforms exceeds 23 million, 56.9% of the consumer universe.
OTTs achieve a greater reach of individuals (whether they are subscribers or not) than traditional payment platforms. Thus, 16,395,000 people in Spain receive one of the OTTs (Netflix, Amazon Prime video; HBO, DAZN, Movistar Lite, Sky, Youtube Premium, Filmin, Apple TV+, Milete Plus, Atreplayer Premium, Facebook Watch; FlixOlé and StarzPlay), reaching 38.7% of households.
For their part, the traditional payment platforms (Movistar+, Vodafone, Orange TV, Euskaltel, Telecable and R) They manage to enter 27.8% of homes.
Netflix is the platform that achieves the greatest reach, after ensuring that 14.1 million people in Spain receive its content (whether they are subscribers or not). Of all of them, the majority are women (52%) while adults between 35 and 44 years old represent 21% of its audience, being the largest age group in Netflix's audience.
