Conecta Fiction Reboot has concluded, after two weeks of exclusively online activity, its first stage. In the week of June 15 to 18, numerous figures from the audiovisual industry met online to talk about what awaits the sector from now on.
In the second week, which concluded this Thursday, June 25, the Conecta Fiction platform has remained active so that those accredited could continue with their meeting agenda and those who could not attend the online sessions and workshops could view all the programming offered in streaming.
The second stage of Conecta Fiction 4 will be held in Pamplona-Iruña (Navarra, Spain). The opening is scheduled for the 1st and the bulk of the professional activities on the 2nd and 3rd of September and will be in person with streaming of the sessions.
The number of online participants has been 400 professionals of which half are Spanish, data that confirms the desire and need of the Spanish industry to open up to the world. Excluding this figure, participation has been very similar between Europeans with 47% and participants from America 53%. Regarding nationalities, Spain, France and the United Kingdom have been the 3 countries with the greatest European participation, while the United States, Mexico and Argentina have been on the American side.
Regarding the follow-up of the interactive sessions and workshops, the highest quota was obtained by the opening session from Pamplona-Iruña (Navarra, Spain), which revealed the name of the projects selected for the September pitchings and included the presentation of the first images of the co-production born in Conecta Fiction Ines of My Soul to then offer the panel Restarting the industry with a following of 1460 unique users. This data, more than triple the number of registered professionals, is due to the fact that it was an open session and indicates a clear interest in knowing what Conecta Fiction Reboot would be like.
On the other hand, highlighting the high percentage of follow-up of the sessions Restarting co-production, y Restarting the talent more than 60% of those accredited and the session Series on the move: Anti-riot whose broadcast was open.
Geraldine Gonard, director of Conecta Fiction Reboot, takes stock of this edition "giving big thanks to all the professionals who have made this first stage of Conecta Fiction 4 possible. The number of accredited people has been very good, technically the online platform that was our own development has worked and, as organizers, we believe that we have been able to respond to the trust received from the Government of Navarra and also from our sponsors. We were starting from a very special situation because in the last 3 months the volume of virtual meetings, conferences, panels, presentations, master classes... it has been enormous, perhaps even excessive. That is why generating different content has been a very demanding and complex exercise and so has the virtual networking, agenda and services part. We know that many participants have to divide their agenda between daily tasks, calls, video conferences... and the event agenda.
"Honestly, it has been a great challenge, but we are very happy to have been able to celebrate it and that Conecta had its space in June. September will also be different, and we will try to scale the activities to maximize the professional meetings that are so missing today," he adds.
The central theme of the panels offered at Conecta Fiction Reboot has been “reset” concept. Restarting the industry, talent and co-productions and, to preserve the atmosphere of closeness and reciprocity created in previous editions, online workshops called Cross-Talks have been generated, dialogue spaces with participation limits limited to 30 people to enhance interactivity between participants.
