The Malaga Festival closes its bravest edition

The jury of the Malaga Film Festival has awarded the Biznaga de Oro for Best Spanish Film to 'The Girls', by Pilar Palomero. 'Summer White', by Rodrigo Ruiz Patterson, has been awarded as best Ibero-American film.

After its postponement in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Malaga Spanish Film Festival has closed this weekend what, without a doubt, has been its bravest edition by an organization, headed by Juan Antonio Vigar, which has made an enormous effort to follow the strictest health security protocols. He jury of the Official Feature Film Section in competition at the 23rd edition of the Malaga Festival, was made up of Álvaro Brechner, Adelfa Calvo, Álvaro Cervantes, Chus Gutiérrez and Pablo Remónha. The Biznaga de Oro for Best Spanish Film has ended up in the film The girls of the director Pilar Palomero, and the Biznaga de Oro for Best Ibero-American Film a summer white by Rodrigo Ruiz Patterson.

He Special Jury Prize it was for the movie The wedding by Rosa de Icíar Bollaín. The Biznaga Best Actor has gone ex aequo to the actors Alberto Amman and Pablo Echarri, for the movie The hunter's silence, while that of Best Actress has fallen into Kiti Mánver and Regina Casé by the Brazilian Tres Veranos.

The Biznaga for Best Direction has gone to Arturo Ripstein by The devil between the legs. Pascal Gaigne, by bad pass, has obtained the festival's highest recognition for music. For its part, Daniela Cajías has achieved the Silver Biznaga for the best photograph by The girls, y Paula Rupolo, for the best assembly, for The hunter's silence.

As to documentaries, the Silver Biznaga has gone to Partida, by Caco Ciocler, a
film full of force that generates a collective space for reflection, through a journey towards utopia. In short film, the best documentary has been Carne, of Camila Kater.

In fiction short film, the prize has been awarded to Arenal, by Rafa Alberola. Finally, the Jury of the Official Section of Animated Short Films (Animazine), has awarded the award to Metamorphosis, by Carla Pereira and Juanfran Jacinto.
