Agile Content incorporates Nuno Ferraz de Carvalho as CCO

Ferraz de Carvalho joins the group as the integration with Edgeware, a specialist in video streaming and digital TV, progresses.

Agile Content, a provider of video and digital television distribution solutions, has incorporated Nuno Ferraz de Carvalho as new CCO (Chief Commercial Officer). Joins from Cisco where he served as General Manager of Global Service Providers (South EMEAR) -.

As a growing multinational company in the OTT technology industry, Agile Content is establishing itself with a solid team and strengthening a competitive portfolio of end-to-end TV products and services for media and telecommunications operators.

This appointment is part of the company's period of sustained growth and follows the recent acquisition of Edgeware, a Nordic software company specializing in content processing and video distribution. The integration of both companies allows us to better address the constantly changing technological needs of the global OTT market. Together with Edgeware, Agile brings together a workforce of more than 250 digital video specialists to spearhead OTT innovation and serve more than 40 million broadband homes in 24 countries.

Nuno Ferraz de Carvalho is a renowned professional with extensive experience in driving digital innovation with a particularly focused approach on the use of the cloud to transform architectures, businesses and user experiences. For more than 22 years at Cisco, Ferraz de Carvalho has held different positions of responsibility such as Telcos Operations Manager, General Manager for Portugal, and since 2014 as General Manager of Global Service Providers (South EMEAR).

In addition to this hire, Agile Content has appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) by Edgeware, Johan Bolin, as new Global CTO. Commenting on recent changes in the business, Bolin notes that “the joint offering of Agile Content and Edgeware means we have a broader portfolio that can be used to address new opportunities, and an expanded R&D budget to drive innovation.”
