ESCAC Postproduction

The Higher School of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia (ESCAC) has shared all the details of its new Postgraduate Degree in Postproduction Supervision.

February 2022 It will be the date on which the new one begins Postgraduate in Postproduction Supervision of the ESCAC, Higher School of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia. This new training proposal, which will be detailed in an information session next June 15 at 7:00 p.m., seeks to train its students in all technical and management capabilities that may require in the matter. In this way, they will be able to monitor all the digital workflows, from the pre-production until the final delivery of materials.

This postgraduate in person, and which will be taught in castellano, has been designed for production, editing and/or photography students who want to specialize in production supervision; to audiovisual sector professionals who want to redirect their career towards the field of post-production; already post-production coordinators who want to complete their training in a broad and technical way.

Curriculum

Over the course of a semester, students will have an extensive training program that includes 15 subjects and master classes. These are:

  • Introduction to post-production (1.5 credits)
  • Technical fundamentals (1.5 credits)
  • Introduction to workflow (2 credits)
  • Practical workflow workshop (2 credits)
  • Camera and filming (2 credits)
  • Assembly (3 credits)
  • Forming and color (3 credits)
  • Sound capture and post-production (3 credits)
  • Music in cinema: Soundtrack (1.5 credits)
  • VFX and graphics (3 credits)
  • Practical workshop on VFX processes and software (1.5 credits)
  • Animation (1 credits)
  • Present and future (1 credits)
  • Mastering (2 credits)
  • Audiovisual Law (1 credits)
  • Masterclasses (1 credit)

At the end of the Postgraduate, students will have acquired skills such as basic knowledge of audiovisual technology, a complete idea of ​​the evolution of post-production processes and an understanding of technical foundations that govern digital cinema in all its areas. Likewise, they can design an appropriate strategy to the characteristics of each piece, know the work of each technical department and understand all the technical specifications of the cameras and how they affect the post-production process.

At the same time, they will receive exhaustive training on the software available on the market, he VFX supervisor role, he design of a security protocol for archiving material and issues of business related to the job.
