Talent vs. adversity

Sabrina Dridje, executive director of the Telly Awards, remarks that, in such a difficult year, creativity has been able to solve the major challenges facing the audiovisual world: “In the face of a year like no other, the visual storytelling community has continued to defy the limitations of our new world. Achievements have been both societal, such as embracing social media platforms to raise awareness about injustices and promote solidarity for movements, as well as geographical, like developing fully remote pipelines for dispersed teams. This year’s submissions doubled down on what we already know about the industry. Creativity cannot be stopped. Collaboration will always prevail. New ideas and stories will always find a way to break through to an audience.”

Finally, Jim Doyle, head of Rocket Surgery, is delighted that the Telly Awards judging panel particularly valued innovative ideas: “It’s been a tough year for everyone, and we’ve all needed a bit of escapism. We’ve tried hard to help our customers bring the most creative content possible to audiences, in ways that are efficient and cost-effective. It’s not been easy given the challenging working environment, but I’m very pleased that the Telly Awards judges have recognized the work that we are most proud of ourselves. I know audiences really enjoyed these projects and I’m incredibly happy for everyone at Ross who was involved.”
