Weird Market and 3D Wire Fest announce news about the content and format of their 13th edition
The Cárcel_Segovia Creation Center will be the new main headquarters for all the activities and projections of the International Animation, Video Games and New Media Market and the International Animation Festival which will be held between September 24 and October 3.
The old provincial prison of Segovia will be the reference point of this cultural event. A rehabilitated and multidisciplinary space dedicated to promoting artistic creation and promoting creative industries. The Julio Michel Room next to the Ex.presa Room 2, cells and patios will house all the activities and projections.
A programming that will once again be a reference point to learn about the projects being prepared by the animation industry both nationally and internationally. The Castilian-Leonese event will also feature the long-awaited premiere of the short film Leopoldo from the bar of Diego Porral, winner of the Movistar+ Short Project Award of the eleventh edition. 3D Wire Fest 2021 will have an international jury from Poland, Portugal, France and Spain; four top-level professionals in the animation industry. Finally, it should be noted that the 13th edition of Weird Market and 3D Wire Fest will be held 100% in person in 2021, but with reduced capacity due to the current epidemiological situation. The organization will strictly implement the Prevention and Control Measures Plan of the Junta de Castilla y León to face the health crisis caused by COVID-19. All activities will be subject to capacity control, use of masks, hand washing and disinfection, as well as social distancing.
The hybrid format, online and in-person, will only continue to be present in the viewing of the catalog of short films, international shorts, international video clips and all national works. Between September 27 and October 10, programmers, distributors and buyers of short films will be able to view the works through the digital platform Festhome.tv; For professional attendees, viewing booths will also be enabled on October 1 and 2.
