The Film Academy selects the 35 short films that will compete for the 2022 Goya Awards

35 short films will aspire to win the victory in the 36th edition of the Goya Awards, which on February 12, 2022 will recognize the best short-term works in animation, documentary and fiction.

The short film commission of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain has been in charge of choosing ten titles for animation, another ten in the documentary section, and fifteen in the fiction category. These short films will be able to be voted on in the coming weeks by all academics to decide which ones will finally be eligible for the 2022 Goya Awards.

Las animation pieces that can qualify for the Goya Award are the hunt, del colectivo Hauazkena Group; Francesc, by Alberto Cano; Leopoldo from the bar, by Diego Porral; Be born, by Roberto Valle; Oddity, by Anna Juesas García and Germán Chazarra; Patches, by Abraham López Guerrero, David Villarubia Lorenzo and Guillermo Hernández Alfaro; Selection process, by Carla Pereira; The Monkey, de Lorenzo Degl'Innocenti and Xosé Zapata; Umbrellas, by Álvaro Robles and José Prats; and Wayback, by Carlos Salgado.

In it documentary section figuran My cousin Andrea's communion, by Brandán Cerviño; Abyssal waters, by Xacio Baño; Dakhla: cinema and oblivion, by Arturo Dueñas Herrero; Extra, by Nacho Fernández; Joseba Cruz, by Aleix Vilardebó Bofill; The blood is white, by Óscar Vicentelli; Mama, by Pablo de la Chica; Mutha & The Death of Ham-Ma Fuku, by Daniel Suberviola; Brokenness, by Koldo Almandoz de la Cruz and María Elorza Deias; and Ulysses, by Joan Bover.
