Riedel Viena I+D

The Riedel new R&D center in Vienna has expanded its capacity to further drive IP technology.

The intervention doubles the size of the Riedel Vienna offices, neighboring the Euro Plaza technology park, which aims to drive further growth of the company’s development team and achieve stronger support for customers in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Originally, this facility was designed to accommodate up to 55 developers and engineers.

The Riedel Vienna team is responsible for front-end and back-end development, automated test software, FPGA programming, PCB design and mechanical design. The team, experts in fiber transport, video processing and wireless communication technologies, will devote special attention to the Riedel Artist, Bolero and MediorNet product lines.

Growing creativity

The R&D center is part of the Riedel Austria facility, which offers an additional 120 square meters of space for facility preparation and managed technology projects. The facility also includes a 100 square meter warehouse to support the Riedel rental business, offering the company’s entire product line to customers in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, the Balkans, Greece and Austria.

Gernot Butschek, director of development at the Riedel Vienna headquarters, praises the facility and the work performed there: “The team at our Vienna R&D hub has the talent and creativity to deliver products with forward-looking functionality that has the power to transform the broadcast and event industry. As the broadcast industry undergoes major disruptive change with the transition to IP-based transport of media signals, our R&D team meets that challenge with innovation.”

On the other hand, Jürgen Diniz-Malleck, managing director of Riedel communications, Austria and CEE, comments, “Our offices are well-situated for our growing development team, and they serve as a convenient base for supporting increasing customer activity across CEE markets. This is an exciting period of growth for Riedel, and I look forward to seeing the impact of this investment on the Riedel product line and in the success of Riedel customers.”
