Lawo launches diamond, its new modular console for television and radio
Diamond is the new modular and scalable console from Theirs. Designed for radio and television environments, this fully IP solution is made up of up to nine modules that can be combined with each other.
This fully IP system (AES67-Dante) driven by the engine Power Core of Theirs stands out especially for its modular design. Combining their nine elements, users can create their perfect console, creating workspaces ranging from 2 until the 60 physical faders (an amount that can be expanded to 120 virtually). Among the nine modules available, those of virtual extension, which integrate TFT touch screens in high definition color
Its main features include color screens adjacent to faders, which offer expanded information about the sources; two layers of faders, which allow operators to instantly switch between various tasks; motorized faders, inherited from the consoles mc2; Programmable LED button and encoder lighting; e Integration with program automation and playout systems, enabling operations involving voice tracking, remote production, or DAW control.
During the product presentation, Theirs has highlighted the system adaptability, which can be used with standard features or be adapted through different APIS and configuration tools for adapt to the needs of each broadcaster.
Use of algorithms and IP compromise
The diamond console Theirs employs smart algorithms that accelerate production workflows, such as functions AutoMix, AutoMix Grouping o AutoGain, an automatic gain adjustment solution that optimizes guest and host microphone levels with the push of a button.
On the other hand, users who decide to do so will be able to operate their console remotely with full access to all functions from a PC with LAN/WAN connection. Diamond, by admitting a unlimited number of DSP profiles, allows the individual talent profiles or the custom show settings are available anywhere. Diamond, on the other hand, is integrated with Home , Lawo IP management platform. Home helps connect, manage and secure all aspects of live production environments, providing centralized microservices for “fast and efficient” interaction of engineers with their tools.
This is how he values Johan Boqvist, senior product manager for radio at Lawo, the brand's latest launch: “In addition to being fully user-configurable and flexible with respect to the number of faders, diamond sets a new standard for hardware and software integration on a true native IP platform.”
