Pandax 4K - Tecnópolis - Blackmagic Design - URSA Broadcast

Buenos Aires-based production company Pandax 4K has streamed live the celebration of the tenth anniversary of Tecnópolis with Blackmagic Design solutions such as URSA Broadcast cameras.

Pandax 4K, an audiovisual production company based in Buenos Aires, has broadcast both on TV and via streaming the celebration of the tenth anniversary and the reopening of Tecnópolis, the largest technology, art and science exhibition in Argentina. The event featured musical shows on different stages, as well as culture and technology presentations, gastronomic experiences and thousands of attendees, with a virtual reach of more than 4,000 viewers. Coverage could be seen through different platforms, such as Cont.ar, the Argentine public service for audiovisual content; the YouTube channel and the Tecnópolis Facebook account; and the Televisión Pública Noticias channel, the national public broadcaster and its YouTube channel.

The Argentine production company used five URSA Broadcast cameras during the event, connected to an ATEM 2 M/E Production Studio 4K mixer and an ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel device, from which the transmission was managed. Damian Petruccelli, technical supervisor at Pandax, gives more details of the broadcast: “The cameras combined with the ATEM 2 M/E Production Studio 4K and ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel really gave us the opportunity to deliver an incredibly dynamic show as we had full control of the multicamera shots during the transmission. These tools were extremely powerful and intuitive to use.”

The Pandax 4K team also had Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and URSA Mini Pro 4.6K units for last-minute requirements, DeckLink 8K Pro capture and playback cards, ten Mini Converters Optical Fiber 12G devices, SmartScope Duo 4K monitors, and two HyperDeck Studio 12G recorders.

Productions from the Kirchner Cultural Center

In addition to these devices used at the Tecnópolis event, the Pandax 4K team regularly relies on other Blackmagic Design products, such as ATEM 1 M/E Production Studio 4K, ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K and ATEM Television Studio HD mixers, to stream live music shows held at the Kirchner Cultural Center in Buenos Aires. The shows, which often feature orchestras and tributes to important Argentine musicians, are streamed live over the Internet from the center’s YouTube channel, as well as from its Facebook account. Pandax 4K has also incorporated the new URSA Broadcast G2 and Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro models to its work dynamics, in order to increase the quality of its productions and services.

Marcos Núñez and Demián Lammer, partners at Pandax 4K, reflect on the inclusion of Blackmagic Design solutions in their workflow: “There hasn’t been a moment when we’ve worried about not being able to handle a production, whether it’s an outdoor event like Tecnópolis or indoors at the Kirchner Cultural Centre. Being armed with Blackmagic Design gives us the confidence and flexibility to offer our clients the services they’re looking for.”
