Culture will contribute one million euros to the Ibermedia Program
The Council of Ministers, at the proposal of the Minister of Culture and Sports, Miquel Iceta, authorized this Tuesday the voluntary contribution to Programa Ibermedia (Audiovisual Development Program in Support of the Construction of the Ibero-American Visual Space) for the amount of 1 million euros.
This contribution, which will be channeled through the Institute of Performing Arts and Music (ICAA), is contemplated in the program for the promotion and internationalization of the audiovisual sector of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), is to strengthen Spain's strategic role in the Ibero-American region with a new line of support for the co-production of digital content and video games, as well as specific training in this area.
This contribution will be made concrete through the creation of a new specific call to support co-production and training in digital content. The contribution will allow the revitalization and strengthening of the audiovisual sector through its internationalization and support for the digitalization and innovation of audiovisual content production activities.
Spain's contribution to this multilateral financial fund to promote film activity contemplates a total investment of 3.3 million euros spread over three years: 1 million euros in 2021, 1.15 million euros in 2022 and 1.15 million euros in 2023.
The objective is to support an annual average of 15 projects and a total of 45 projects in the Ibero-American area.
