OneWeb satellite service will allow Telefónica to offer its service in remote regions of Europe and Latin America

Telefónica through Telefónica Global Solutions (TGS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with OneWeb, a low-orbit satellite communications company, to improve connectivity services throughout Europe and Latin America.

The efficient and high-performance satellite service of OneWeb of low orbit satellite (LEO- Low Earth Orbit) will complement the current offering of Telefónica in Europe and Latin America, allowing Telefónica to reach remote regions where previously it could not provide service. TGS will offer its experience to promote and offer the services of cellular backhaul OneWeb low latency solutions that will help improve the existing one and support updates to the red a 4G/5GIt will also provide backup backhaul for critical sites and available capacity for special events.
