RTVE appoints new directors of the Territorial Centers in the Basque Country and Galicia
Iñaki Díez will be the new director of RTVE in the Basque Country, while Ramón Vallés assumes the management of the Corporation in Galicia.
Díez Rubio has developed his entire professional career at RTVE, since 1985. He began his work in the Information Services of the Basque Country in 1988, and was head of the Information Services of RNE in Bilbao between 1996 and 2006, an information period marked by ETA terrorism, and the economic and cultural transformation of the new Euskadi.
In 2006, he was appointed RNE correspondent for Italy and the Vatican, and experienced first-hand the resignation of a pope. He traveled with Benedict XVI and Francis, and in Italy he reported on populist movements, the institutional crisis or the penetration of the mafia into society. In 2014, he rejoined RNE in Bilbao.
Ramon Valles
Vallés Aponte began his relationship with RTVE in 2000, at RNE A Coruña and Vigo, where he worked as a writer and editor for several years. In 2006 he was appointed TVG correspondent in Portugal.
In 2008 he returned to RTVE, in the Territorial Center of Andalusia, in Seville, where he was Head of News, editor and presenter of the territorial news. In 2021 he returned to RTVE Galicia, as an editor for TVE in A Coruña.
