Miguel Ángel de Frutos assumes the subdirectorate of Territorial Centers of RTVE

Miguel Ángel de Frutos, former director of Technical Media at TVE, has been appointed deputy director of Territorial Centers at RTVE.

RTVEDe Frutos ha desarrollado prácticamente toda su carrera profesional en RTVE en los últimos 39 años. Ingeniero de Telecomunicaciones, ha ocupado puestos de responsabilidad tanto en centros territoriales como en TVE. Fue responsable técnico de sedes de los Juegos Olímpicos de Barcelona y responsable de planificación y coordinación técnica en los de Atenas y Pekín. Además, ha sido director de Medios Técnicos de TVE y asesor en el proceso de integración de RNE y TVE en la Dirección de Centros Territoriales.

His appointment as deputy director of Territorial Centers has been agreed by the director of TVE's Information Services, José Antonio Álvarez Gundín, and the director of RNE, Alfonso Nasarre. This position had been vacant since at the end of last year the until then deputy director, Juan Roldán, was appointed director of the area.

RTVE has also appointed Pau Fons as the new director of RTVE in the Balearic Islands, replacing Margalida Blanquer. Graduated in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication, he has been linked to RTVE since 2008, during which time he has held different responsibilities, both in Madrid and in the Balearic Islands, where until now he was editor of TVE.

Asimismo, el periodista Mateu Ramonell, ligado a RTVE desde 1988, ha sido designado nuevo jefe de Informativos y Programas de RTVE en las Islas Baleares, donde ha ocupado responsabilidades en las áreas de Programas e Informativos. Entre otras distinciones, Ramonell es Premio Talento de la Academia de Televisión en 2010.

RTVE also announced the appointment of Juan José Andrés Martínez, a graduate in Information Sciences from the Complutense University, as head of News and Programs at RTVE in Castilla y León, a position he already held in 2000. Born in Pesquera de Duero (Valladolid), he has belonged to RTVE since 1990, where he has held numerous relevant positions in Specialized and News Programs, in addition to dealing with parliamentary information during the last years.
