Movistar Plus+ will broadcast all RTVE territorial disconnections

The RTVE Corporation and Telefónica Audiovisual Digital have signed a distribution agreement for their channels (La 1, La 2, Canal 24 Horas, Clan and Teledeporte) on the platform Movistar Plus+ for the next three years. Its viewers will start to enjoy, as a novelty, all the territorial disconnections.

The agreement has been signed by Elena Sánchez Caballero, interim president of RTVE, y Emilio Gayo, president of Telefónica Spain. Sánchez thanked Telefónica Spain for its willingness to “continue with this agreement that will allow us to fulfill our public service as a territorialized institution, according to the legal mandate.” For his part, Emilio Gayo has declared that “making an agreement with RTVE is always a symptom of moving forward and working on the development of the audiovisual sector in this country.”

The new agreement between RTVE and Telefónica allows the continuation of the dissemination of all the contents of La 1, La 2, Canal 24 Horas, Clan and Teledeporte through Movistar Plus+ and will incorporate the issuance of all territorial disconnections. To date, Telefónica had been retransmitting the specific signal of La 1 in Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Catalonia, Valencia, the Basque Country, Galicia and Castilla-La Mancha and, for the territory of Catalonia, also of La 2. Thanks to the new agreement reached by RTVE and Telefónica for these three years, Telefónica undertakes to begin the retransmission of specific signals of La 1, or territorial disconnections, in the eleven remaining autonomous communities: Madrid, Castilla y León, Aragón, Murcia, Extremadura, Asturias, Balearic Islands, Navarra, La Rioja and Cantabria and La 2 in the Canary Islands.

La 1, La 2, Canal 24 Horas, Clan and Teledeporte, as well as the aforementioned territorial disconnections, will be distributed through Movistar Plus+ with an experience “Premium"viewing and will also be available in the different functionalities of the platform. "The public will have easy access to RTVE's offering on the day, the territorial signals will be better distinguished and it will also be ensured that the channel is seen well on a delayed basis thanks to a "synchro-guide"", highlights RTVE itself.
