Haivision collaborated with ISB on the 2022 World Games

International Sports Broadcasting (ISB) used the technology of Haivision to enable cloud-based workflows for coverage of the 2022 World Games held this summer in Birmingham, Alabama, providing multiple sources of real-time video to broadcasters around the world.

Leveraging Haivision's cloud-based video networking technology and a fleet of real-time video encoders Makito X of Haivision, together with the SRT video transport protocol, ISB provided streaming services to 20 rights holders in more than 50 countries during the World Games.

Haivision's solution provided eight live video sources to rights holders, as well as pre-packaged content for the World Games channel, a broadcast-ready channel comprised of live and pre-recorded sports and highlights packages. Live video streams from mobile units at various sporting venues were encoded with low latency using Makito X video encoders and sent for cloud distribution.

Ursula Romero, CEO of ISB, acknowledges that "Haivision products are very easy to use, with no complex menus to navigate. We could easily monitor the flows with just a laptop and keep an eye on where the flows were going and who was receiving them. Haivision made the decision to move to the cloud easy. It was worth it and we are very happy with the results."
