Sixth edition Emergente Cine Lab winners

The international short film development and co-production forum Emergent! Cinema Lab has closed its sixth edition with the awarding of more than €10,000 in prizes to four projects: The woman who looks like me (Argentina) by Eleonora Comelli and Ange Potier; Narcillo (Colombia) by David Paredes; A Midsummer Night's Tale (Spain) by María Herrera, and The Mengua (Colombia) by Karel Solei.

Emergent! is a forum and laboratory in Spain whose purpose is facilitate an annual meeting point among the new creators and the industry, promote the emerging audiovisual talent en español de todo el mundo y dar un impulso a la industria del cortometraje. Además, con su celebración se apuesta por posicionar a Spain, y en concreto a Madrid, como espacio clave donde localizar e impulsar este talento. Durante sus dos jornadas, el evento contó con más de 200 acreditados y se realizaron cerca de 70 reuniones profesionales, organizadas para conectar al talento joven emergente con proyectos seleccionados con potenciales coproductores, financiadores y distribuidores nacionales e internacionales.

En su sexta edición, en la cual se inscribieron 170 proyectos (100 más que en la pasada edición), fueron seleccionadas 10 obras. De ellas, cuatro han triunfado por encima del resto, repartiéndose cuatro premios que suman more than €10,000. He First Talent Prize of €6,000 The Best Participating Project went to The woman who looks like me de Eleonora Comelli and Ange Potier; el Second Talent Prize of €2,000, to Narcillo by David Paredes; he Emerging Producer Award of €2,000, which consists of a travel bag to attend the international Short Film Corner market at the Cannes Festival, achieved it A Midsummer Night's Tale by María Herrera, and the EMERGING Connection Award! was awarded to three projects to attend three Ibero-American forums collaborating with Emergente!: Conexión Emergente Bogoshorts Film Market Award for The woman who looks like me by Eleonora Comelli and Ange Potier; Chile Emerging Connection Award at Grande-Cortos Lab for The Mengua by Karel Solei, and ABYCINE Launches Emerging Connection Award for A Midsummer Night's Tale by María Herrera.

Emerging! is organized by AIC (Short Film Industry Association). It has the support and financing of the Community of Madrid, the Madrid City Council and EGEDA, the collaboration of Madrid Film Office, and also with the financing of the ICAA through the European Union Next Generation funds.
