Mediapro at MWC 2023

The future of entertainment and new narratives thanks to multi-platform immersive experiences (augmented reality, virtual reality and metaverse) are the pillars on which Mediapro bases its presence on MWC 2023 in Barcelona.

The audiovisual group has a 50 square meter stand, located in the area Journey to the Future, one of the great novelties of the fair: the first immersive storytelling space that offers attendees a unique, experiential and practical journey to the future of technology and connectivity solutions.

In this space, Mediapro invites visitors to experience what it will be like Content consumption in the future: experiential, interactive and multi-device. To this end, it proposes a series of innovative, connected and complementary experiences in a multi-platform environment (augmented reality, virtual reality and metaverse) based on two of the most successful types of content: football and fiction through UPA Next, the Atresplayer series produced by Globomedia (The Mediapro Studio).

The first proposal that can be tested at the stand invites the user to experience watching a football match. enriched football through some mixed reality glasses: sitting on their sofa, in addition to being able to see the linear signal live, the user can complement the experience with 3D lineups, statistical information or the classifications, but also enter, thanks to 360º cameras, into spaces not usual in broadcasts such as the arrival at the stadium, the access tunnels to the locker room, the warm-up or the press room. All this, always letting the user choose with their gestures what content they want to consume.

Another experience that can be lived in the Mediapro space is to participate in a casting to become one of the main dancers of UPA Next, the Atresplayer series produced by Globomedia. Thanks to virtual reality glasses, the visitor will be able to test their dancing skills following the steps proposed by a teacher: first they must imitate each of the movements and then perform a small choreography and thus obtain a final score.

Also based on UPA Next, another of the activities proposed by the group is the use of raugmented reality to complement the content consumed on the television. In this case, the proposal is that when the user is watching a fiction like UPA Next In your living room, you can use your mobile device to expand information about the series thanks to augmented reality, and even live an interactive experience by projecting one of the dancers in 3D and see how they perform choreography and what steps they take.

Finally, the world of future content ends in a journey to the metaverso- Users can browse the platform Double, an immersive environment, to learn what technologies have been used to create the experiences proposed at the MWC: volumetric video and its integration into VR, AR and WebAR environments; mixed reality glasses, interaction with virtual elements...

Doppel, developed with the video game engine Unity, is highly customizable and accessible from any computer, and has been created with the aim that companies, institutions and brands can have their own virtual world in a simple way.

All these experiences have been developed by Vision, a group company specialized in the development of content and immersive experiences.
