Blackmagic brings the EF mount and a 6K sensor to its new Studio Camera 6K Pro broadcast camera
The new Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K Pro expands the Studio Camera range with EF mount, 6K sensor and direct internet transmission via Ethernet or mobile data.
Blackmagic Design continues to improve its range of cameras for broadcast applications with the Studio Camera 6K Pro, a tool that seeks to offer all types of solutions in a “compact and portable” design. Thanks to its colorimetry and wide dynamic range, the Studio Camera 6K Pro is ready to deliver remarkable performance in challenging lighting conditions, supported by its value Maximum ISO of 25,600. Likewise, the camera's 6K sensor and its fifth generation colorimetry from Blackmagic allows the operator to have at their fingertips the same technology as digital cinema cameras, as well as grading functions controllable from a mixer.
He 13 dynamic range steps of the Studio Camera 6K Pro provides deeper blacks and bright whites that are ideal for making color adjustments. With a resolution of 3840 x 2160 y 6144 x 3456, respectively, the 4K and 6K versions allow the camera to be used in both HD and UHD productions. It should also be noted that all models in this line support frame rates between 23.98 f/s y 60 f/s.
Likewise, thanks to the popular EF mount or Micro Four Thirds, Blackmagic Studio Camera models are compatible with a wide range of photographic lenses. To avoid having to reach out to adjust the lens manually, controls for changing focus and focal length can be installed on the tripod handles, just like on larger studio cameras. In this way, Blackmagic points out, the “same experience” is achieved as with a more expensive B4 lens.
The launch of the Studio Camera 6K Pro is accompanied by the immediate availability of the camera Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro G2, which improves on its predecessor by adding new interconnectivity and internet streaming capabilities. In this way, both models include SDI connections that facilitate communication between the switcher operator and camera operators during the transmission of live events, and a XLR connector The five-pin connection that allows communication is located on the side of the camera and is compatible with all types of professional headphones.
The Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro G2 and 6K Pro, which have connectivity SDI 12G, 10GBASE-T y XLR for balanced audio signals, they also have technology Ethernet 10G, which facilitates the transmission of all signals through a single connection using a 6A copper cable.
Thanks to this remote connection via the Internet, the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro G2 and 6K Pro models allow you to broadcast live from anywhere in the world. In this case, the unit generates a signal in format H.264 HD which is transmitted to the studio via the Internet. Simply connect the camera's Ethernet port to the Internet or a phone with 4G o 5G to the USB-C port in order to use mobile data for the transmission link.
