Audio-Technica BP3600 immersive audio

Those broadcasters interested in delving deeper into immersive audio now have the BP3600 microphone at their disposal, a development of Audio-Technica aimed at three-dimensional audio broadcasting of sporting events, concerts, festivals or cinema.

He BP3600 of Audio-Technica has eight capsules with high features frequency integrated into the body compact and light enough so that a single operator you can use and configure them easily. The system also allows direct routing, without the need for additional decoding or latency processing, with 5.1.4 channel speaker arrangements.

The BP3600's eight microphone modules extend from the body to form a cube with 15 cm between each microphone set. Each microphone array array eight almost coincident channels is equipped with a 12mm hypercardioid capsule to produce discrete signals with ideal separation and deliver immersive audio experiences with ample headroom. When used in a typical 5.1.4 immersive scenario, the four upper channels microphone can be assigned to the upper speaker channels, and the four lower channels can be assigned to the lower speaker channels. This eliminates the need for additional decoding or latency processing during routing.

Ease of use has been key in Audio-Technica's R&D process. The BP3600 includes Numbered and coded channel indicator rings by color of the main unit, which allows you to easily identify the channels. To ensure easy on-site setup when time is limited, each microphone assembly incorporates a lock that “ensures” accurate, repeatable positioning and prevents accidental removal. Furthermore, these connector locks They protect microphone terminals from the elements, including rain, and make disconnecting a set quick and reliable. Also included is a safety strap which can be connected to fall prevention cables when used above spectators in stadiums, auditoriums or other venues.

The end of the microphone grip BP3600 by Audio-Technica includes a LEMO 2B multi-pin output connector to connect the included LEMO to XLRM breakout cable (x8) to route all eight channels to a mixing console or audio interface. LEMO to LEMO 2B multi-pin connector extension cables are available separately for use between the microphone and the multi-connector cable to increase cable length. Phantom power (48 VDC) is required for each channel.

The BP3600 comes standard with eight dedicated windbreaks and one microphone stand clamp with a 5/8″-27 to 3/8″-16 threaded adapter.
