The versatility of AJA solutions saves Hash Pixel time and money
Founded in Beijing in 2020, Hash Pixel develops and implements workflows for streaming, broadcast and DIT support projects using technology from AJA as an essential component of the workflow in all applications.
As demand for HDR production has taken off, the converter AJA ColorBox has proven to be essential for high-performance color management in Hash Pixel's live broadcast, live event production, and post-production projects.
Hugo Wang, CTO of Hash Pixel, comments that "We were introduced to ColorBox through our AJA distributor, Esan, and we are honored to be one of the first users of ColorBox in China. ColorBox really fits into our workflow, the price is reasonable and it supports 12G-SDI. It is an ideal all-in-one solution."
Hash Pixel projects include large-scale events such as Huawei Connect, as well as Huawei PGC e-commerce streaming, concert You Came with the Light from TikTok, the JJ Cup Doudizhu (Fight the Landlord) game finals, the feature film Sacrifice and an advertisement for the Chinese bike-sharing service Hellobike.
The company's streaming events typically require video distribution to an internet platform, such as TikTok, BiliBili, Douyu, and WeChat.
Typically, the Hash Pixel team connects the ColorBox to the PGM signal from a video switcher, converts the color, and transmits the output to their recording and broadcast department.
Since ColorBox supports a complete series of HDR and SDR conversions, the DIT can easily download, adjust and save settings. Signal metadata is preserved in the ColorBox SDI output, so the team can easily use it in conjunction with video assist software QTake.
For the remote IP production and SD-WAN, the company leverages its own IP video solutions, which allow them to remotely adjust the color of content through ColorBox. Having a kit like the ColorBox that supports 12G-SDI has become essential for Hash Pixel as 4K streaming and recording in live production workflows has become more common.
With FS-HDR, Hash Pixel completes color conversion, frame synchronization, and AES, Madi, and SDI audio keying and de-keying, fulfilling different functions in a single device. The company leverages Hi5-4K-Plus to successfully transmit SDI HDR signals from its color software to HDMI reference monitors for HDR production, with users able to easily view signal input and output from the Mini-Config management software.
