Chilly Source shoots Nike's Maxxed Out event with the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro

At Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro by Blackmagic It was used to film the Maxxed Out event x Chilly Source Market, organized in collaboration with Nike.

Chilly Source is a lifestyle brand made up of a wide team of creators, including designers, videographers, DJs and musicians. It was initially founded by Yusuke Yotsuyanagi (DJ KRO), who took his first steps in audiovisuals through YouTube: "I used to share videos on a personal channel, but when I reached 10,000 subscribers on YouTube, I thought the best thing would be to start a record label for DJs. Therefore, I gathered a group of people and founded Chilly Source about seven years ago," says the Japanese creator.

During the quarantine, Yotsuyanagi decided to redouble its commitment to broadcasting over the internet with teams of Blackmagic Design like the mixer Atem Mini: “For the “Stay Home Mix” mixes I installed two fixed cameras and distributed signals from the Atem Mini while mixing music.” Once the quarantine period was over, Yotsuyanagi started the “3rd Floor” project, different DJ sessions from various locations recorded by the Chilly Source team with the Pocket Cinema 4K: "At Chilly Source, we have people who can record, edit and do all kinds of creative things. I can do some of those tasks myself, but we have people who work professionally in the audiovisual industry and have long used Blackmagic film cameras. Today, we shoot most of the videos we produce at Chilly Source with these units," confesses the creative.

These videos led to offers of collaboration with different companies, including the event Maxxed Out x Chilly Source Market, which featured the joint exhibition of various Air Max models and artistic creations made by different members of Chilly Source.

The members of Chilly Source They filmed the event with three units Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro and monitors/recorders Blackmagic Video Assist 12G 7” HDR: "Blackmagic cameras are extremely easy to use. The touch panel configuration menus are very practical and allowed me to reach the settings I needed without any problem. It was our first experience recording in 6K and, even though they were long days, the files generated were not too large in size. It was a big surprise how fast the Blackmagic RAW codec is," Yotsuyanagi recalls.

Post-production was also done with DaVinci Resolve Studio, the editing, grading, visual effects and audio post-production program from Blackmagic Design. This is how the creator of Chilly Source sums up the experience: "For editing, we turned to DaVinci Resolve Studio. The process is extremely agile and allowed us to grade the material without compromising quality. I feel that it is designed to make the most of the camera tools. The other benefit of DaVinci Resolve is that, unlike the editing programs I used to use, it does not accumulate cache memory, so now I can work quickly without stress."
