Filming ends on 'Escape', the new film by Rodrigo Cortés produced by Martin Scorsese
Rodrigo Cortés' new project, 'Escape', which is his first film in Spanish since his feature film debut with the black comedy 'Concursante', which was followed by the cult hit 'Buried', has just concluded filming with the executive production of Martin Scorsese.
The film stars Mario Casas alongside such prestigious actors and actresses as Anna Castillo, José Sacristán, Josep María Pou and Blanca Portillo.
Escape, produced by Adrián Guerra and Núria Valls, de Nostromo Pictures, together with Rodrigo Cortés, also responsible for the screenplay, is a free adaptation of the novel of the same name by the Spanish writer Enrique Rubio and has the executive produced by Martin Scorsese.
Filming has taken place over eight weeks in several locations in Madrid and among the team leaders, the following stand out Rafa García in the direction of photography (Love in its place), Ana Alvargonzález in the Artistic direction (For Black), Víctor Reyes in the composition of the soundtrack (Buried, Love in Place) and Alberto Valcárcel in costume design (The Crooked Lines of God, Paradise Hills).
Escape it is an escape told in reverse. It is the story of a broken man who wants the State to take charge of his life and take away his freedom, once and for all. The film raises questions, such as whether those who care about him will prevent him from committing increasingly serious crimes and how far the judge will be able to go to not grant his wish.
The film is a co-production of Nostromo Pictures with the French production company The Project, in association with Mogambo and Cosmopolitan TV, and with the support of RTVE and Movistar Plus+. Film Factory is handling international sales and Beta Fiction Spain will distribute the film in cinemas in Spain.
