The uses of AI, debated by more than one hundred professionals at the I Forum of the Galician Audiovisual Industry

Professionals and experts from the audiovisual industry gathered at the ICT City of A Coruña to participate in the 1st Forum of the Galician Audiovisual Industry-FIGA, an event that addressed the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the audiovisual industry.

For three days, PUSSY It was the meeting point of the Galician professionals to learn how the different AI applications are revolutionizing the creation, production, distribution and exhibition of audiovisual content, and to exchange points of view on numerous issues that concern the sector. The president of the Galician Audiovisual Academy, Alvaro Perez Becerra, considers that dedicating this first edition of the forum to AI “served to bring together visions and perspectives with which perhaps we had less contact, which on the one hand confirm many concerns, but on the other hand open paths and opportunities.”

National and international reference experts addressed issues related to legislation, post-production, direction or script, taking into account the challenges and opportunities that AI presents for the audiovisual sector in conferences and discussion panels. In the words of Alba Meijide, AI content coordinator at FIGA, "it will be necessary to adapt to a new environment driven by technology without losing sight of the need to keep human creation at the center of the content. In a world driven by constant change and technological evolution, events like FIGA highlight the importance of coexistence between the innovation that artificial intelligence entails and preserving the artistic singularity that only the human touch of artists and creatives can provide."

The forum also promoted the holding of professional meetings, which culminated with the creation of the Galician Audiovisual Board, made up of representatives of the Galician Audiovisual Academy and the sectoral associations Association of Actors and Actresses of Galicia (AAAG), Galician Union Association of Screenwriters (AGAG), Galician Association of Independent Producers (AGAPI), Galician Audiovisual Cluster, Association of Direction and Production Professionals (CREA) and the Galician Coordinator of Cinema Festivals (PROXECTA).

Pérez values ​​“very positively the level of participation of academics, academics and professionals from different fields who came to the ICT City to share these days with us,” adding that “the audiovisual sector found in FIGA a meeting point that is here to stay, in which to put on the table the issues that mark our daily lives, but also challenges for the future.”
