Panasonic takes the lightness of macro lenses to the extreme with the Lumix S 100mm F2.8
Designed to fit the L-Mount standard, the new Lumix S 100mm F2.8 Macro lens (S-E100) from Panasonic It is presented as the “world’s smallest and lightest” medium telephoto fixed focal length macro lens.
The design light and compact of the Lumix S 100mm F.2.8 Macro de Panasonic, weighing approximately 298 grams, seeks to offer “unmatched” mobility and flexibility in a wide variety of situations.
The system has among its main features a new focusing mechanism, which offers “superior tracking performance with fast and precise autofocus”; the possibility of making close-ups “real size” thanks to its 100mm focal length, using its large aperture to capture high-resolution images with bokeh, as well as a silent operation thanks to a newly developed linear motor and its focus breathing, adapting it in this way to contexts of video recording.
The Panasonic lens also offers control of the microstep diaphragm to get exposure changes soft, as well as the possibility of choosing between linear or non-linear adjustments on the focus ring. Panasonic has presented this new lens within the framework of the CES 2024 fair, which takes place from January 9 to 12 in Las Vegas.
