The solutions of Genelec reach five large recording and mixing studios, five smaller mixing rooms and two editing rooms Dubbling Brothers, a Parisian dubbing studio that is growing unstoppably due to the increase in demand for dubbed content in European markets.
Founded in 1989, Dubbing Brothers He began his career in a small studio in France, dubbing the American television series The Young and the Restless. Over time, the company gained the trust of such important clients as Sony, Disney, Warner y Universal. Today, Dubbing Brothers operates in several countries, with facilities in United States, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Spain.
As the content localization business continues to evolve, Dubbing Brothers faces both opportunities and challenges. To stay ahead, the company has invested heavily in equipment, technology and talent development. Furthermore, the company's experience in Home Atmos has positioned it as an important agent in the production and post-production of formats with immersive audio. According to Jerome Malaize, its technology director, the consolidation of VOD platforms has been one of the keys to its growth: “With the arrival of new platforms, we have gone from about 100 studios to 150 currently in nine countries.”
In Paris, Dubbing Brothers has 19 studies in its main building in Paris and others 17 in other facilities located 7 km away. With four dedicated recording studios equipped with specific equipment, many of their mixing studios are also equipped for recording, allowing simultaneous use of the rooms. The latest expansion of Dubbing Brothers
As demand for content grew, Dubbing Brothers decided expand its Paris facilities with five large recording and mixing studios, five smaller mixing rooms and two editing rooms. acoustic engineers Camille Hamel y Jean Marc Vernaudon accompanied Malaise throughout the project, who made the final decision to bet on teams of Genelec: “I chose Genelec because I have years of experience with their products and I fully trust them as a brand.”
Of the new mixing and recording rooms, three have deployed the same system Genelec 7.1.4 composed of S360s for L-C-R, 8340s para surrounds y overheads, y un subwoofer 7382 who is in charge of the LFE. The four smaller 7.1.4 mixing rooms each have a slightly different Genelec configuration. The room 107 has 8350 for L-C-R, 8040 para surround, 8030 para overhead y un subwoofer 7380; 108, with 8351 para L-C-R, with 8040 for surround sound and overheads and the 7380 for bass; in room 109, the 8050 are combined with 8030 and a subwoofer 7380, and scenario 110 offers 8050 for L-C-R, 8040 para surround, 8030 for overhead and a 7380. Finally, two 5.0 editing rooms have an identical design, supported by monitors 8030 y 8020.
The integration is completed with the use of GLM software to calibrate each monitoring system to the room: "I installed a GLM kit in all the studios, permanently connected, so it saves me a lot of time when I have to check the calibration: I don't have to bring all the additional equipment, which is very useful. GLM allows me to do a fine calibration of the system in a very efficient way, without losing sight of all the speaker parameters."
Looking ahead, Dubbing Brothers is exploring new avenues for global expansion and strengthening its presence in more countries. According to Malaize, Genelec will be the co-star of this expansion: “I have installed many brands of speakers in the past, but Genelec is the only one that gives me full guarantees that we will produce a good mix.”
