Grup Mediapro hires Marc Orts to lead the fiction sound area at Telson
Telson, the image and sound post-production studio of Mediapro Group, incorporates into its team the award-winning sound mixer Marc Orts, one of the most relevant figures in sound post-production and winner of seven Goya and eight Gaudí awards.
Orts, who joins Telson as head of the group's fiction sound, adds 17 nominations and 7 Goya awards by The Snow Society, The Orphanage, Buried, The Impossible, The Child, A Monster Comes to See Me y Three; a Golden Reel Award, 22 nominations and 8 Gaudí awards and 3 nominations and 2 Platinum awards, among other awards, which have made him an important professional reference in the sector.
Marc Orts has worked with directors of the caliber of Pedro Almodovar in movies like Broken hugs, Pain and Glory, Passenger lovers, Julieta, The room next door, The skin I live in o Parallel mothers; Juan Antonio Bayona in The Orphanage, The Impossible, The Snow Society y A monster comes to see me and with Alejandro Amenábar, Daniel Monzon, Jaume Balagueró, Paco Plaza y Dani of the Order, among others. He was also responsible for the film's sound mix. Enemy from the Canadian director Denis Villeneuve (Dune, Blade Runner 2049), and has participated in the sound production of large productions such as The machinist y Transsiberian, from the American director Brad Anderson.
Orts, who is part of the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that awards the Oscars, has also contributed to relevant technological developments related to sound such as the creation of the immersive sound tool IMM-Sound which Dolby acquired to create its prestigious and popular Atmos system; the Full Immersive system for audiovisual experiences and the tool One Sound sound and mixing automation.
Telson, who has just won a Goya and a Gaudí award for Best Visual Effects in the The 47, has extensive experience and provides services to the main national and international companies in the advertising, film, series and television fields. In the coming weeks, the group will open a sound post-production studio at its production center in Barcelona.
